Even though I'm holding back my enthusiasm for this Euro, as I am still hesitant as to how we'll fare against strong opposition (which we haven't had since 2022's World Cup, maybe with the exception of the friendly match against Croatia, which we lost), here I was watching this video and thinking to myself "is he seriously not gonna talk about Portugal?" My deepest apologies for what I may have rushed to think before watching the whole video! Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva have yet to make a solid performance in the group stage, but there are many others who can take over the reins of this team. Vitinha has been great, João Neves can hold that midfield for 90 minutes, especially with Palhinha alongside him. Ruben Neves, who many Portuguese have been unhappy about being called up after a season in Saudi Arabia, seems to be in good shape and he can also pull off those long range passes... I just don't want to get my hopes too high, because we've had brilliant teams in the past and we were only able to win when we were an incredible defensive stronghold. I know we've got great defensive players, but I feel they've not been tested yet under Martinez, so I guess it's a case of waiting and seeing. By the way, as I write this, Croatia are already out. Their group was not easy, but I'm still kind of disappointed!

Your women do win in football, because the rest of the world doesnt take it serious and it's barely supported. The amount of money the US pumped into the women team is unrivaled. Other than in the male counterpart, america is on the forefront in a very unchallenged branch. The US men are way better than the women and would blow them out of the water of they would play seriously against each other. It's just that the males have the problem that they face proper footballing nations everywhere they go, with national teams way older than theirs. Also your pro league is on second or third tier level of the top 5 european leagues. As long as your boys don't get to play in Europe, you won't go anywhere.

Why is this still a debate? The US simply does not feel the same about Soccer/Football as much of the World does. Why do only a few countries win in Rugby? (New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, England, Ireland) Why do only a few countries win at Ping Pong (China and a few other Asian countries) Why do so few countries dominate in specific sports or events? Because those countries actually CARE about the sport. Basketball is now one of the most popular Sports in the world... Dominated by the United States. Why? Because we love the game. We have the best players, best coaches, etc. That is exactly why the US will probably never win a World Cup. We do not have the best players or coaches, and 90% of the Country just... Doesnt care.
